One Only

Por Stefania Elizondo

Chilling snowflakes kiss my skin

With frosty lips and linen skin,

Melt to tears, lose your breath,

I miss the warmth of your embrace.

Brush your hand against my fingers,

Thaw the ice from my fragile bones,

My heart hardened to stone long ago,

Chip away the layers and hold me close.

Galaxies sing sweetly in your eyes,

Your veins are tangled with stars,

Your blood speaks of constellations,

Burning nebulas flutter in your voice.

Caress my lonely shadows,

Make me feel whole again,

Even if you don’t notice it,

You’re the one I wish to be with.

Drowning eyes filled with diamonds,

Touch my soul, wake me up,

Swing back and forth between us,

Between only you, only me.

Smile in the language of pearls,

Have my skin crawl and shift

To understand the warmth you bring,

My heart beats to burst from my chest,

My throat coils to keep the butterflies in.

You might not comprehend

The power you have over me,

But a single word, a single glance,

Ignites my blood and takes me high,

So much, I have never loved anyone.
